Camp Updates and Information:

3/12/2021: Due to the current COVID – 19 Pandemic that has forced school closures, social distancing, and the suspension of large gatherings within the Commonwealth. The Pennsylvania State Police has decided that all large summer programs, to include the Camp Cadet and Sunny Day Camp Programs, will be cancelled for 2021.

We are saddened by the decision to cancel such programs but know the decision is necessary to protect each other from further outbreaks that endanger our communities.

As a result of this cancellation, I am certain that the 2022 Troop N Camp Cadet selection process will be impacted. We ask for your patience as we develop a process that honors the 2020 and 2021 applicants as well as those that will be applying in 2022.

We thank you very much for your continued support of these programs and wish you safety and good health during these difficult times.

Camp Cadet Program

The Pennsylvania State Police Camp Cadet Program was established in 1970 and is a summer camp for boys and girls from Pennsylvania between the ages of 12 to 15 (Troop N only accepts ages 12 to 14). The camp is held at various locations throughout the State and is staffed by Troopers, local police officers, and other law enforcement volunteers. The goal of Camp Cadet is to educate participants to the diverse criminal justice system and establish a positive relationship with law enforcement.

Camp Cadet is open to all youth and is structured to training similar to training at the police academy. All participants who attend Camp cadet are required to participate in all scheduled events. The camp focuses on discipline, self-esteem, teamwork, character, violence prevention, drug and alcohol education as well as many other issues facing today’s youth.
